We got married in Oaxaca thanks to everyone in the hotel. When we arrived we told them we wanted to get married here and like magic, they put together a wedding experience I will always cherish and hold dear. I am amazed at the extend that everyone went out of their way to accomodate me and make me feel so welcome. I never imagined it would be so perfect, in every way. Oaxaca is a beautiful and peaceful place, so rich in history, amazing architecture, the best food and so much art. Every day was full! Dear Lety, Agustin, and the rest of the family at Casa Cid de Leon:
I am writing you this letter on behalf of Annais and myself to extend our utmost thanks and appreciation for everything that you did for us during our stay at your truly beautiful hotel. As it was my first time in Mexico, I was enthralled by every sight, taste, smell, sound, and feeling from the very beginning. That said, I know that even Annais, a native of your country and a frequenter of Oaxaca, was equally taken aback.
The room itself was outstanding! I kept having to ask Annais, "Did we get married? or "Are we on our honeymoon?" just to make sure i wasn't dreaming. The details you have in place around the hotel and in the room, really make everything so charming, so delicate and so much like a home. There was an inexplicable warmth in the air that really touched both Annais and I in a profound way. We really did feel safe and well taken care of the entire time.
It was so nice of all of you to provide such thoughtful service throughout the duration of our stay. Taking us on a private tour to the market de Zachilaa and to find the most incredible alebrijes, cooking and serving us such amazing authentic meals (not to mention waiting patiently for us to return from our excursions), arranging appointments at the pool or for the tour to Monte Alban, taking care of our laundry, cleaning our room and making our bed every day. The chocolate -so delicious!! And the book of poems, Lety, such kind and inspiring words in your dedication. There is so much more that everyone did that cannot be listed here, but please know that nothing was overlooked and everything made us feel so welcome and loved.
Annais and I are very much in love with each other and are now, thanks to all of you, very much in love with Oaxaca. As we were discussing this, it is clear to us that Oaxaca is a very special place for the two of us. Our experience there certainly helped to solidify a lot of the feelings we have had for each other and has propelled us to start thinking more, not only about our remote future, but about our distant future as well. Rest assured that our future includes many more stays at Casa Cid De Leon and you will see us again and again, many many times.
