Opening General Session | 15 March | 9:00 - 10:30 AM

Putting it Together

It鈥檚 more than bricks and mortar that corporate real estate (CRE) professionals are charged with putting together these days. Piece-by-piece you鈥檙e shaping and influencing how and where work gets done鈥攚ork that is undoubtedly more collaborative and complex within corporate ecosystems. That critical connection between HR, IT, and CRE, not to mention ESG and DEI, has become increasingly important in a post-pandemic world.

The interconnectedness of people, place, and technology told from the perspectives of a place maker, tech space thought leader, and a disability advocate鈥擡xplore with us during the Opening General Session at the 乐竞体育官方入口 Global Summit in Singapore. Three compelling stories. Three thought-provoking topics to challenge and inform your work. Three distinct puzzle pieces. All you have to do is put them together...

David Engwicht
Place Maker

David Engwicht turns spaces into places much like one turns a house into a home. He pioneered agile methods of placemaking which focus on "doing" rather than planning or talking. He's a passionate designer, artist, author, communicator, and social inventor known as one of the world鈥檚 most inventive thinkers on creating vibrant public spaces. Nothing gives him greater joy than working with communities to breathe new life into dead spaces 鈥 and telling the stories of how they all came together.

Mathew Soh
Digital Native

Matthew Soh is a 12-year-old 鈥渄igital native鈥; at age 10 he built an ultrasonic device to track his community鈥檚 recycling habits and has held coding camps for children with cancer. He delivered his first TEDx talk in 2022 sharing why parents should make peace with their children鈥檚 use of technology.

Dr. Hannah Barham-Brown
Doctor & Disability Advocate

Disability is still a barrier to employment for millions of people 鈥 but it doesn鈥檛 have to be this way. Drawing on her own experience in the medical profession, Dr. Hannah Barham-Brown argues that people with disabilities are an asset more employers need to harness. She is a tireless campaigner for the rights of disabled people, particularly in the world of work.
